Role Overview: MRI Technologists perform diagnostic imaging using magnetic resonance technology, preparing and executing procedures independently or with licensed practitioners. They analyze data, ensure patient safety, and adhere to safety protocols, including medication administration and patient preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history securely.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to ALARA principles to maximize safety and image quality.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and ensure proper data storage and transfer.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying magnetic resonance safety principles.
- Assist with MRI interventional procedures and select suitable pulse sequences based on protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR endorsement.
- Graduate from a radiologic technology training program; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of MRI safety, technical procedures, and patient care.
