Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to safety protocols and performing complex technical procedures.
- Participate in quality control and ensure accurate patient treatment and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Assess patient mobility, provide patient education on side effects and treatment aids, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Simulate new patients and coordinate treatment schedules, ensuring clear communication with patients.
- Follow all safety procedures, including wearing radiation badges and practicing universal precautions.
- Assist in training students and participate in on-call rotations.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support departmental goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited radiation therapy program.
- Certification in ARRT Radiation Therapy and BLS (or BLS Instructor).
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately, with strong technical skills.
