Radiation Therapist – Full Time

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients following physician prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiation-producing equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures.
  • Perform complex, precise technical procedures and deliver consistent therapy.
  • Participate in Quality Control monitoring and document in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialty care across age groups (adolescents, adults, geriatrics).
  • Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids.
  • Ensure accurate patient set-ups, simulate new patients, and schedule treatments appropriately.
  • Follow safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and participate in warm-up procedures.
  • Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions immediately.
  • Assist with patient mobility assessments, participate in on-call rotations, and serve as a clinical instructor for students.
  • Comply with organizational policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates degree or higher from an accredited program.
  • ARRT-T (Radiation Therapy) certification and BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
