Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist III provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex clinical situations, primarily in critical care areas. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases, ensuring safe and effective patient treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care through assessment, therapy planning, and execution.
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway interventions.
- Educate patients, families, and support staff; serve as a preceptor for new employees and students.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, promote evidence-based practices, and participate in PI projects.
- Ensure safety, accurate documentation, and compliance with policies, focusing on quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Licenses and certifications including RCP, NBRC-RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
- Minimum of two years of critical care experience across various adult and pediatric units.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
