PRN Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Role Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases, ensuring safe and high-quality patient care. The role includes educating patients, supporting staff development, and participating in procedures like pulmonary testing and cardiac services.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with a team approach
  • Assess patients and collaborate on care planning
  • Administer medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway management
  • Educate patients, mentor new staff, and support staff development
  • Ensure safety and compliance with policies, promote performance improvement and evidence-based practices
  • Document care accurately and support quality initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
  • Certifications: NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS (all required upon hire)
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in computer and database use
