Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, interpret waveforms, and ensure safe, quality patient care while promoting safety standards and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Administer medications, manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases.
- Educate patients, families, and support staff, and mentor new employees and students.
- Ensure safety by maintaining accurate documentation, promoting medication safety, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Support invasive procedures, pulmonary testing, and cardiac service activities as needed.
- Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Valid NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, customer service, and computer skills.
