PRN Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They exercise significant independent judgment, educate patients and staff, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality, safe, and evidence-based care. Duties include airway management, arterial blood gas analysis, and assisting with invasive and non-invasive procedures. The therapist promotes a positive work environment, supports performance improvement initiatives, and adheres to policies and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
  • Certification as NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS (required upon hire)
  • 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and computer skills
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals and educate patients
