PRN Respiratory Therapist

Role: Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. The role involves independent decision-making, patient and family education, staff development, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing compassionate, patient-centered care and promoting a positive team environment
  • Performing assessments, verifying orders, administering therapies, and managing ventilators
  • Educating patients, mentoring new staff, and supporting staff development
  • Ensuring safety, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to quality standards
  • Participating in invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics
  • Supporting performance improvement and evidence-based practices
  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
  • Certifications: NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS (required upon hire)
  • 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals and patients
