Role: Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate patient care, documentation, and education, promoting a team-oriented environment.
- Perform assessments, collaborate with healthcare team members, and verify orders for therapies such as aerosolized medications, oxygen, and medical gases.
- Manage ventilators, including weaning, waveform interpretation, and airway management (intubation, extubation, trach care).
- Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and educate patients and staff; assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary testing.
- Ensure safety and quality through accurate documentation, medication safety, performance improvement, and evidence-based practices.
- Mentor new employees, students, and peers, and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
- Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner, BLS, and ACLS (or equivalent).
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship-building skills, and computer proficiency.
