Pre-operative Clinical Nurse

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced PACU environment, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. The nurse will promote patient and family-centered care, educate on post-treatment management, and ensure safety and quality compliance. Responsibilities include developing and documenting individualized care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team, and assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting patient values and cultural considerations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Licenses: Current RN license.
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary; 2+ years of experience and supervisory experience are preferred.
  • Skills: Critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. Experience in critical care or Phase I PACU is preferred.
  • This is a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe work practices.

Key Duties:

  • Assess and evaluate patient needs across physical, emotional, and cultural domains.
  • Implement and document care plans, ensuring effective communication across care teams.
  • Educate patients and families on post-care management, medication, and recovery processes.
  • Participate in professional development and quality improvement activities.
  • Work collaboratively to promote safety, compliance, and optimal patient outcomes.
