Physician/Director of Medical Services

The Physician will provide outpatient medical care to patients of all ages in a rural setting, serving as Director of Medical Services with oversight of the clinic and staff.

  • Deliver responsible, respectful patient care, including history-taking, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and coordination of care, with on-call availability as needed.
  • Document all visits electronically within 24 hours, review and sign reports, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Refer complex cases to specialists, coordinate with external agencies, and develop clinic procedures for quality improvement.
  • Supervise medical staff, including nurses and mid-level practitioners, and provide consultation and training.
  • Manage electronic health records, communicate with administrators, and ensure compliance with privacy laws.
  • Maintain current medical knowledge through ongoing education, develop specialty clinics, and provide patient and community education.
  • Participate in meetings, serve on committees, and support clinic administrative functions.

Qualifications include an MD/DO license, experience in primary care, knowledge of Native American health needs preferred, and ability to work independently in a rural environment. The role involves occasional travel, extended sedentary work, and adherence to immunization and certification requirements. Compensation ranges from $153,000 to $276,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits. Relocation and willingness to travel are required.
