Role: A Physical Therapy Resident (PTR) is a postgraduate trainee responsible for providing patient care, participating in educational activities, and supervising staff and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and modify treatment plans based on current theories, documenting and billing accordingly.
- Perform patient evaluations, goal setting, and discharge planning, sharing findings with relevant parties.
- Create a positive learning environment for observers, students, and staff, ensuring educational objectives are met.
- Maintain departmental productivity standards and proactively serve patients’ immediate needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Enrollment in a PT Doctorate program.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required at hire.
Additional Requirements: Clinical hours in patient treatment, mentoring sessions, didactic education, and supervision of rehabilitation technicians, volunteers, and students. The role involves varied patient caseloads across different settings and ages.
