Role: The Physical Therapy Assistant collaborates with physical therapists to develop and implement programs aimed at restoring or improving patients’ mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing treatment plans, selecting appropriate activities, and adjusting goals in collaboration with therapists and patients.
- Providing patient and family education, discharge instructions, follow-up, and referrals.
- Documenting treatments accurately and timely according to protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining confidentiality, and practicing ethical business conduct.
- Promoting a positive patient and team environment, applying customer service principles, and fostering teamwork.
- Participating in professional development, mandatory training, and supporting new staff orientation.
- Adhering to infection prevention, safety, dress code, and organizational policies.
Qualifications include:
- Associates degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent high school diploma.
- Licenses and certifications: PTA certification and BLS certification, all required upon hire.
- Effective communication skills, customer-focused attitude, team orientation, and basic computer proficiency.
