Physical Therapist PRN Acute Care

Role Overview: The physical therapist assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, and prevent deformities in patients with disease or injury. Services are delivered across the continuum, emphasizing quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Treatment Planning and Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient input, provides education, and offers discharge instructions and referrals.
  • Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, goals, and discharge plans, involving patients and families in care planning.
  • Documentation: Records evaluations, treatment sessions, and family education according to departmental protocols.
  • Professional and Ethical Standards: Upholds ethical practices, maintains confidentiality, punctuality, and effective communication. Participates in meetings, training, and quality improvement activities.
  • Customer Service & Teamwork: Demonstrates a patient-focused approach, fosters teamwork, and applies service recovery principles to ensure positive experiences.
  • Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes required competencies, and participates in onboarding and system training.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors in Physical Therapy
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist and BLS certification
  • Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills
