Role Overview: A physical therapist assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to enhance mobility, reduce pain, and prevent deformities in patients with disease or injury. Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning and Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient/family input, provides education, discharge instructions, and referrals.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, goals, and discharge plans, involving patients and families in care planning.
- Documentation: Records evaluations, treatment sessions, family education, and discharge details according to protocols.
- Professional Conduct: Maintains ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, dress code, effective communication, and participates in meetings and training.
- Customer Service & Teamwork: Demonstrates respect, fosters positive interactions, applies service recovery principles, and supports a collaborative environment.
- Professional Development: Completes mandatory training, maintains licensure, participates in orientation, and adheres to organizational policies.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors in Physical Therapy; licensure as a PT and BLS certification. Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills are essential.
