Overview
Provides physical therapy interventions to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting with monitoring progress and documenting care in accordance with policies and standards.
Key responsibilities include implementing established treatment plans, modifying procedures within scope of practice, and maintaining accurate records. The role involves managing a caseload, delivering services at patients’ homes or facilities, and assisting with therapeutic activities, positioning, transfers, and use of medical equipment.
Requires travel to various patient environments, ensuring adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Participates in team meetings, training, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- New York State Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Associate’s Degree from an approved program or equivalent
- Minimum of two years clinical patient care experience
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- Bilingual skills and basic PC skills preferred
