Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct physical therapy services based on the plan of care established by a physical therapist and physician.
- Assessing patient conditions, delivering skilled treatments, and ensuring patient safety.
- Educating patients and caregivers on the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Communicating regularly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize care.
- Documenting patient progress, observations, and treatment details accurately and timely.
- Assisting in discharge planning and providing appropriate instructions for ongoing care.
- Adhering to ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and complying with professional guidelines.
Qualifications include:
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a PTA.
- Valid CPR certification.
