Role: Provides physical therapy treatments under licensed therapists, utilizing modalities, manual techniques, and exercises. Guides patients through functional activities like bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance. Works independently and may mentor staff.
Qualifications: Requires a High School diploma or GED; an Associate’s/Technical Degree or related experience is preferred. Must hold valid Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in applicable states, CPR/BLS certification, and a valid driver’s license. Prior experience in therapy settings such as acute care or outpatient is preferred.
- Performs treatments and guides patients in functional activities.
- Observes patient responses, follows treatment precautions, reports changes.
- Documents interventions and treatments accurately and timely.
- Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, tailoring to learning styles.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
