Role: The physical therapist assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, increase strength, and prevent deformity. Services are delivered across the continuum in a cost-effective, quality-focused, and customer-oriented manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning and Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient/family input, provides education, discharge instructions, and referrals.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, goals, and discharge plans, considering patient and family input.
- Documentation: Documents evaluations, treatment sessions, family education, and discharge details per departmental guidelines.
- General Requirements: Maintains ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, effective communication, teamwork, and safety protocols, including infection prevention.
- Customer Service: Demonstrates professionalism, respects patients and colleagues, fosters teamwork, and applies service recovery principles.
- Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes competencies, participates in orientation, and complies with policies and mandatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Licensing as a Physical Therapist and Georgia State Licensure.
- Certifications including BLS or equivalent.
- Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
