Role Overview:
Performs phlebotomy tasks in a physician office setting, ensuring accurate specimen collection and patient care.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of medical laboratory practices, procedures, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with lab manuals, formularies, ICD-9, and reference lab procedures.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, to be obtained within 90 days of start.
- Preferred: Certification from ASCP Board of Registry or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain proper lab procedures and safety protocols.
