Role Overview: This position involves assisting licensed pharmacists by accurately preparing medications, stocking products, and providing customer service. Responsibilities include inventory management, labeling, and processing prescriptions while maintaining patient profiles and insurance claims. The role supports pharmacy operations by operating cash registers, ensuring a clean and organized department, and adhering to legal and health regulations, including HIPAA.
Key Duties:
- Stock and inventory medications and supplies
- Notify management of supply needs
- Receive and process prescriptions/refills
- Package, label, and verify medications
- Maintain customer profiles and insurance forms
- Operate cash register and handle transactions
- Ensure department cleanliness and product availability
- Adhere to all legal policies and procedures
- Assist with delegated tasks and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy-related experience and state certification preferred
- Ability to read, write, interpret documents, and perform basic math
- Customer service-oriented and detail-focused
- Knowledge of pharmacy products and suggestive selling skills
Physical & Other Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
