Role Overview: This position involves independently delivering pharmacy support and operational tasks within a non-compounding, closed-door veterinary pharmacy environment. The Pharmacist manages prescription processing, medication dispensing, record-keeping, and ensures compliance with standards. They communicate with healthcare providers and end-users, handle inquiries, and maintain medication storage conditions. The role requires cross-training across pharmacy functions such as inventory management, order processing, and documentation, supporting multi-state operations with active licenses.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain valid prescription information from licensed veterinarians.
- Handle medication orders via calls and faxes, clarify prescriptions, and dispense medications per veterinarian instructions.
- Ensure proper labeling, timely delivery, and safe storage of medications.
- Respond to questions from healthcare providers and end-users, maintaining high customer service standards.
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed drugs and prescriptions, prepare reports, and support pharmacy operations including inventory and order management.
- Support multi-state licensing requirements, perform related duties, and ensure compliance with all policies.
Qualifications & Skills: Must hold a valid pharmacy degree from an accredited college, with an active pharmacist license (Pennsylvania preferred). New graduates are encouraged to apply.
