Role Summary: The Pharmacist is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing evidence-based care plans, and monitoring patient outcomes to enhance quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmaceutical care tailored to specific patient care areas.
- Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review medication profiles, and ensure safety by checking for drug interactions and contraindications.
- Recommend formulary alternatives based on patient clinical parameters.
- Collaborate with medical staff on drug therapy issues and monitor laboratory results.
- Offer drug information and counseling to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Participate in rounds, calculate dosages, verify orders, and prepare specialized medications using aseptic techniques.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Coordinate with healthcare teams to resolve pharmacy service issues and assist in policy revisions.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Doctoral degree preferred). Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, excellent communication, teamwork, and supervision skills are essential. Ability to interpret lab results and perform medication calculations is needed.
