Role Overview:
The Patient Access Representative (Central Registration) provides patient-centered service in a clinical or front office setting. Responsibilities include greeting patients, check-in procedures, answering calls, collecting co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and managing front office duties in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties:
- Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Utilize computer systems to ensure accurate data entry and verification
- Process referrals, pre-authorizations, and insurance benefits
- Collect payments and address outstanding balances
- Assist with scheduling and patient inquiries with compassion
- Review and analyze patient data reports, maintaining knowledge of registration requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years in a healthcare, customer service, or office setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with medical terminology, insurance procedures, and financial verification (preferred)
- Ability to work onsite, standing for long periods, and handle multiple tasks
