Role Overview:
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide patient-centered respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation, within hospital and department guidelines. The role involves applying advanced clinical expertise, serving as a resource to the healthcare team, and ensuring patient safety through effective, developmentally appropriate care that complies with quality and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team through documentation and handoffs.
- Providing education on respiratory treatments to patients, families, and staff.
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as ventilator support, bronchoscopies, and sleep studies, utilizing advanced skills like ECMO support when needed.
- Maintaining accountability for continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications include an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program, Respiratory Care Practitioner license, RRT certification, and Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS). A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
