Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care in critical settings, including ventilator management, medication administration, airway management, and pulmonary diagnostics. They assess patient needs, collaborate with healthcare teams, and deliver education to patients, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments, therapy planning, and medication administration
- Manage ventilators, interpret waveforms, and handle airway procedures
- Conduct arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary diagnostics
- Educate patients and mentor new staff and students
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality improvement initiatives, and documentation standards
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP
- 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and computer skills
