Part-Time MRI Technologist

Role Overview: MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures. They independently conduct MRI scans, prepare and administer medications, and analyze data for accurate diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, ensure patient identification, and prepare patients for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Apply appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and prioritize patient safety following ALARA principles.
  • Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
  • Evaluate image quality, verify data transfer, and assist in post-processing.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, ensuring safety principles are followed.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and perform prescribed MRI scans.
  • Select suitable pulse sequences based on protocols and data acquisition factors.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with MR endorsement, obtained upon hire.
  • Graduation from a radiologic technology specialty training program; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MRI safety, technical protocols, and patient care standards.
