Part-Time Emergency Department Nurse Manager

Role Overview:

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining and purchasing equipment, and tracking departmental statistics. The role includes hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development. You will participate in staffing, budgeting, and ensuring operational efficiency aligned with department goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff by hiring, training, scheduling, conducting performance reviews, and implementing disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Oversee patient care plans, ensuring interventions meet patients’ age and developmental needs, and document appropriately.
  • Create collaborative care plans based on assessments and medical treatments.
  • Coordinate staffing needs, assign nursing duties, manage overtime, and handle staff communication and meetings.
  • Ensure productivity and operational goals are met, contributing to departmental efficiency and staff development.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree; preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: 2-5 years with supervisory experience; preferred 5-10 years with supervisory experience.
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN license required.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience as a Team Lead/Charge Nurse or ANM.
  • Emergency Medicine experience is advantageous.
