Part-Time Cardiac Sonographer

Role Overview: A full-time Registered Cardiac Sonographer is sought to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams, ensuring safe, age-appropriate patient care and quality imaging according to departmental procedures.

  • Responsibilities include: verifying clinician orders, obtaining clinical history, operating ultrasound equipment, positioning patients, reviewing images for accuracy, and assisting with procedures while maintaining patient privacy and comfort.
  • Exhibiting independent judgment, critical thinking, and technical proficiency to produce diagnostic results.
  • Ensuring equipment calibration, adhering to infection control policies, and maintaining departmental cleanliness.
  • Supporting team members, participating in patient education, and documenting procedures accurately.
  • Performing clerical duties, managing supplies, and operating all ultrasound work stations.
  • Reporting equipment issues and maintaining compliance with health system policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED; diagnostic medical sonography training preferred.
  • Certifications such as ARDMS, CCI, or RDCS, along with BLS certification, required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year echocardiography experience or completion of an accredited sonography or cardiovascular technology program preferred.
  • Dependability, cooperation, and ability to work independently are essential.
