Role Overview:
This RN position is based at the BJWCH Ballas Surgery Center in the peri-anesthesia department, providing care for ambulatory surgery patients undergoing otolaryngology and ophthalmology procedures. The role involves training in both pre- and post-operative patient care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient-centered care, including education on illness management, home care, and medication administration.
- Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring clear communication across the continuum of care.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural backgrounds.
- Contribute to a safe environment, maintaining constant alertness as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree, RN license, BLS, ACLS or PALS certifications.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 2+ years of experience.
- Experience in ICU, ED, or critical care preferred; PACU experience is a plus.
