Orthopedics Clinical Nurse – Nights

Role Overview

This position involves providing direct patient care on an orthopedics unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards. The nurse will promote patient-centered care, educate patients and families on managing injuries or illnesses, and participate in safety, quality, and professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.
  • Participate in activities that ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Provide education on post-treatment care, medication administration, and illness management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Current RN licensure required.
  • Experience in orthopedics and/or medical-surgical units is preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a healthcare environment.
