Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides prescribed therapy to alleviate pain, restore function, and prevent disability following disease or injury.
Key Responsibilities: Conducts assessments, develops individualized treatment plans utilizing modalities like exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electrical stimulation. Guides patients through active/passive exercises, muscle re-education, and gait training using equipment such as ultrasound and diathermy. Manages wound care, instructs on device use, and educates patients on postural control and therapeutic exercises. Performs progress evaluations, documents patient improvements, and may supervise support staff or train students and staff in techniques.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), licensure as a Physical Therapist, and certifications in Basic Life Support and Pelvic Health (preferred). Must obtain licensure within 90 days if not already licensed. Experience in physical therapy, including clinical practice, is necessary.
Additional Certifications: BLS required; Pelvic Health certification preferred.
