Role: The occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to restore or improve patients’ daily activities, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the full continuum, focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning & Care: Implements treatment plans, selects activities, revises goals with patient/family input, provides education, discharge instructions, and referrals.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment plans, goals, and discharge strategies, considering patient and family input.
- Documentation: Records evaluations, treatment sessions, family education, and discharge details per departmental guidelines.
- Professional Conduct: Upholds ethical standards, maintains confidentiality, punctuality, and professionalism; communicates effectively; participates in meetings and training.
- Customer Service & Teamwork: Demonstrates respect, fosters teamwork, applies service principles, and creates a positive environment for patients and staff.
- Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes required certifications, and participates in orientation and training.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Bachelors in Occupational Therapy.
- Licenses and certifications: OT license and BLS certification.
- Skills: Effective communication, customer service focus, team-oriented, basic computer skills.
