Occupational Therapist – PRN

Role Overview:

This PRN Occupational Therapist position in an acute care setting involves providing skilled evaluation and treatment services to patients. The therapist collaborates with healthcare teams to develop personalized rehabilitation plans aimed at improving patients’ daily functioning and discharge readiness. Responsibilities include establishing treatment plans, educating patients and families, delegating tasks to assistants, and documenting services according to departmental policies. The role requires assessing, reassessing, and consulting on occupational therapy needs, ensuring safe and effective care.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Licensed or registered as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred)
  • No prior experience required; supervision experience is not mandatory
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to patient needs
  • Proficiency in documentation and interdisciplinary communication
  • Key Duties:

    • Provide direct occupational therapy interventions
    • Coordinate with healthcare providers for patient care
    • Delegate tasks appropriately to assistants and techs
    • Educate patients and families on therapy plans and equipment
    • Complete accurate and timely documentation
