Role: An Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements therapy programs for patients with injuries or diseases affecting daily functions.
Responsibilities: Conduct assessments across all patient ages, set goals with patients and families, deliver individualized treatment using various techniques, monitor progress, and update care plans.
Develop discharge and follow-up strategies, including home programs and equipment recommendations.
Educate patients and families, promote morale, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Evaluate and recommend adaptive equipment, fabricate orthotic devices, and instruct on their use.
Perform home evaluations, ensure accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Stay current with best practices, supervise staff and students, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Ensure safety, adhere to regulations, and maintain professional licensure.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational Therapy, NYS license, current BLS certification, and ability to travel within the region.
