Role Overview: An occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to restore or improve patients’ daily activities, mobility, cognition, strength, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the care continuum, emphasizing quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments in collaboration with physicians to develop and evaluate treatment plans, goals, and discharge strategies.
- Implement and adjust therapy interventions, selecting appropriate activities to meet patient goals.
- Educate patients and families, providing discharge instructions, follow-up, and community resource referrals.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, education, and discharge plans per departmental standards.
- Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical practices, and demonstrate cultural competence.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and process improvements, ensuring timely workload management.
- Utilize resources safely and efficiently, observing infection control protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification required upon hire.
- Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
