Role Overview: The Occupational Therapist provides age-appropriate rehabilitative interventions tailored to meet patients’ physical, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs. They collaborate across disciplines to ensure treatment goals are achieved, delivering high-quality care through assessment, therapeutic exercises, education, and treatments in patients’ homes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care: Manage rehabilitative needs, schedule visits, perform routine procedures, and adjust care based on patient progress and physician orders.
- Coordination of Services: Develop and revise care plans, communicate with the healthcare team, and support patient recovery.
- Patient and Caregiver Education: Educate patients and caregivers to promote independence and address safety concerns.
- Staff Education & Development: Participate in onboarding, continuing education, and stay current with clinical practices.
- Communication & Documentation: Accurately document interventions, report patient status changes, and adhere to regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licenses and certifications: BLS, OT license, Georgia driver’s license, private vehicle insurance.
- Minimum one year of full-time occupational therapy experience; home health experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, rehabilitative, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer software related to home health operations and documentation.
