Role & Responsibilities: The Occupational Therapist plans and implements treatment programs across all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric, based on accepted practices. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and supervise positions such as Occupational Therapy Assistants, aides, and students/observers.
Qualifications & Skills: Candidates must have the ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations, including lifting up to 50 pounds, physical mobility, and assisting patients. They should be prepared for potential exposure to infectious diseases, emergency situations, and may require wearing protective gear. Strong communication, physical stamina, and adaptability are essential.
Physical & Visual/Hearing Requirements: Must have corrected vision and clear hearing capabilities. The role involves physical activities like sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and twisting, often frequently or occasionally. Candidates must be able to handle toxic chemicals, handle irregular hours, and wear protective equipment. The work may involve exposure to infectious agents and chemicals.
