This full-time urgent care position in Lake Charles, LA, is for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) working a 7-on, 7-off rotating shift, including weekdays, weekends, and major holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care services by performing physical exams, obtaining medical histories, and ordering diagnostics.
- Interpret data to determine diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
- Administer medications, sutures, and patient education on health and prevention.
- Collaborate with physicians, maintain records, and triage calls while ensuring patient confidentiality.
Requirements:
- MSN or MPAS degree and active NP or PA license in Louisiana.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, medical equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to handle emergencies, communicate effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand, lift up to 100 pounds, and work in potentially hazardous conditions.
