Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN

Role Overview: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides safe, patient-centered imaging services by performing a variety of technical procedures with independent judgment and precision. They set up equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining equipment and adhering to infection control standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, verifying orders, obtaining history, and addressing contraindications.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Review images for quality, release patients, and document procedures accurately.
  • Respond to emergencies, restock supplies, and maintain a clean, organized department.
  • Assist with patient transport and positioning; perform clerical duties as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience; nuclear medicine experience preferred.
  • Certifications: ARRT Nuclear Technology or Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech, BLS required.
  • Ability to operate NM equipment, demonstrate critical thinking, and communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Additional Duties: Maintain quality control, document accurately, participate in departmental training, and support team collaboration. Willingness to take call and perform routine support tasks is essential.
