New Graduate Nurse – RN Residency

Role Overview: The RN Resident is a new graduate participating in a 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support a successful transition into professional nursing practice. The role involves providing individualized, high-quality patient care, collaborating with an interprofessional team, and adhering to organizational standards and ethical practices.

Key Responsibilities: Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation based on evidence-based standards. Deliver patient- and family-centered care that respects cultural diversity and promotes engagement. Coordinate safe care delivery, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and support research and evidence-based practices. Serve as a preceptor or mentor, contribute to protocol development, and ensure resource efficiency. Maintain compliance with policies, standards, and safety goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum education: Nursing diploma or bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
  • Licenses/certifications: Current RN license (single state or multi-state), BLS certification.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of RN experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Epic, 3M preferred).
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to read, write, and speak English; adaptability in fast-paced environments; commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
