Role Overview: The RN Resident is a newly graduated registered nurse participating in a comprehensive 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support a successful transition into professional practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete structured orientation phases including system, core, and specialty onboarding, along with monthly residency sessions.
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care aligned with established standards, utilizing evidence-based practices and critical thinking.
- Collaborate effectively with interprofessional teams, families, and patients to ensure high-quality, individualized care.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research activities, and protocol development to enhance patient outcomes.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor, fostering a healthy, professional work environment.
- Adhere to legal, regulatory, and organizational standards, including the Georgia Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association codes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum education: Nursing diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
- Licenses & Certifications: Active RN license (single state or multi-state), BLS certification required at hire.
- Experience: Less than 1 year of RN experience.
- Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, proficiency with clinical technology, and basic computer skills; Epic and 3M experience preferred.
