Role Overview
The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards after completing a nursing program and before licensure. They must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation to remain employed.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families on managing illness, post-treatment care, and medication use.
- Use critical thinking to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively, promoting patient and family-centered care.
- Evaluate patient responses and modify care plans accordingly.
- Participate in activities promoting safety, quality, compliance, and professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s in Nursing.
- Preferred: Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment, strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
