Neurology Nurse Manager

Role Overview: This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining and purchasing equipment, and overseeing departmental operations. It requires hiring, training, evaluating staff, and ensuring productivity aligns with organizational goals. The role includes developing staffing plans, overseeing budgets, and ensuring quality patient care through collaborative care planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff including hiring, training, assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating professional development.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets related to staffing, revenue, and expenses, adjusting for business changes.
  • Provide and supervise patient care, ensuring interventions meet age and developmental needs, and document appropriately.
  • Create and implement care plans based on assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, payroll, and communication, including staffing needs, overtime, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure department productivity and operational goals are met, conducting performance reviews and implementing improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years for nursing diploma holders; 5-10 years for bachelor’s degree holders.
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN license required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, with a focus on staff management and operational oversight.

Additional Information: The role may involve flexibility to assist during urgent staffing needs. Preferred experience includes neurology. The position is within a high-ranking hospital recognized for clinical excellence, including specialized rehabilitation services.
