Role Overview: This position involves providing direct patient care in a specialized Neuro Medicine and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, offering opportunities to develop critical thinking, assessment, problem-solving, and time management skills. The unit cares for diverse neuro-surgical and medical patients, including seizure monitoring and multi-system diagnoses, fostering a strong foundation for nursing careers.
Responsibilities include:
- Promoting patient and family-centered care by educating on illness management, medication, and post-treatment needs.
- Participating in activities that ensure patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance.
- Developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients.
- Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers to involvement.
- Maintaining awareness of safety-sensitive responsibilities to work safely and alertly.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate with a Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree; RN license required.
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with 2+ years of experience.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
- Certification in NIHSS exam eligible.
