MRI Technologist, PRN

Role Summary:

The MRI technologist independently operates MRI equipment to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and care across all ages. Responsibilities include patient screening for magnet safety, proper procedure execution, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Key Duties:

  • Perform procedures with proficiency, maintaining high standards and timely imaging for interpretation.
  • Identify patients accurately, review safety questionnaires, and communicate clinical information effectively.
  • Prepare and clean scan rooms, manage supplies, and handle contrast materials within scope of practice.
  • Implement emergency protocols and accurately record data in hospital computer systems.
  • Conduct quality control of equipment and procedures to meet standards.
  • Provide clinical instruction to staff and students, coordinate staffing, and manage workflow.
  • Stay informed of departmental updates and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; certification in Radiology & MRI (ARRT or ARMRIT) and BLS required.
  • Proficient in computer use, data entry, and mathematics.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, imaging procedures, and patient communication.
