Role Summary: MRI Technologists perform diagnostic imaging using magnetic resonance technology, preparing and executing MRI procedures to assist licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities: Obtain correct patient information, ensure safety and proper imaging protocols, evaluate image quality, and assist with magnetic resonance interventions. They prepare and administer medications as prescribed, educate healthcare staff, and apply safety principles to minimize risks.
Qualifications & Skills: Certification by ARRT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB with MRI specialization is required. A graduate from a Radiologic Technology training program is essential, with a preference for a related bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in routine and complex duties, quality improvement participation, and strong safety awareness are expected.
Work Environment & Compliance: Typically performed in clinical settings, with accountability for adherence to policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills may be required for successful performance.
