Role Overview:
This position is for a Full-Time Charge MRI Radiology Technologist responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily MRI, in a fast-paced hospital environment. The technologist oversees daily shift operations, ensures quality control, prepares patients and equipment, and performs studies independently. They serve as a clinical resource, mentor staff and students, and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving. In the absence of supervisory staff, they assume leadership responsibilities and act as a liaison between team members and management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree or Trade School equivalency
- Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography – R.T.(R) and/or MR
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience; 5-10 years preferred
- Licenses such as RTR, CT, MR, or relevant certifications; IEMA for Illinois (excluding MRI)
- Strong technical skills in MRI and radiologic procedures
- Ability to mentor staff, troubleshoot equipment and procedures, and communicate effectively
Key Duties:
- Prepare patients and equipment for imaging procedures
- Perform MRI studies independently, including on-call and portable exams
- Manage shift workflow, prioritize tasks, and escalate issues as needed
- Provide expertise, problem-solving, and mentorship to staff and students
- Maintain supplies and communicate effectively with team and management
