Role Overview:
Seeking an MRI Technologist responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnostic and research purposes. The role involves preparing patients, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, and ensuring safety and quality of images. Technologists assist licensed practitioners with procedures, administer medications as authorized, and evaluate and process imaging data. They also educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying safety principles to minimize risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical histories.
- Optimize imaging protocols, maximize patient safety, and adhere to ALARA principles.
- Administer medications through vascular access under supervision.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data storage, and assist with post-processing.
- Support and educate students and healthcare team members.
- Apply MRI safety standards and participate in safety assessments and implant investigations.
- Perform MRI procedures as prescribed, selecting appropriate pulse sequences and parameters.
- Assist with MRI interventional procedures and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to starting.
- Completion of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of MRI safety, imaging protocols, and technical procedures.
- Ability to educate others, evaluate images, and adhere to safety standards.
