Role Overview: The MRI Technologist I performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis, therapy, or research, ensuring accurate data acquisition and analysis for licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct patient identification, proper preparation, and documentation of clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and prioritize patient safety following ALARA principles.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, documenting activities in compliance with laws and policies.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data transfer, and assist in post-processing tasks.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying MRI safety principles to minimize risks.
- Support licensed practitioners in MRI procedures and interventional techniques, selecting suitable pulse sequences according to protocols.
- Participate in MRI safety investigations and approval processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification in ARRT, NMTCB, ARMRIT, or similar; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Completion of Radiologic Technology training; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of MRI safety, imaging protocols, and medication administration.
- Ability to evaluate image quality and work collaboratively in a clinical environment.
